Publication Frequency

Al-Faqr: Journal of Islamic Intellectual Studies is published three times a year—in January, May, and September.
The journal accepts manuscript submissions at any time throughout the year. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous single-blind peer-review process conducted by qualified reviewers with expertise in Islamic philosophy, theology (kalam), Qur'anic and Hadith studies, Sufism and Islamic mysticism, Islamic law and legal theory (usul al-fiqh), intellectual history of Islam, classical Islamic sciences, contemporary Islamic thought, comparative religious studies, hermeneutics, manuscript studies, and related interdisciplinary fields engaging Islam's intellectual heritage.
To be considered for inclusion in a specific issue, manuscripts must be submitted by the following deadlines:
  • For the January issue: submissions must be received by 31 December
  • For the May issue: submissions must be received by 30 April
  • For the September issue: submissions must be received by 31 August
Articles published in Al-Faqr: Journal of Islamic Intellectual Studies are made available online in full text immediately upon publication and can be freely accessed through the journal's official website. All content is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), ensuring broad dissemination, ethical reuse, collaborative scholarship, and long-term preservation of research findings for global academic and public benefit.
