Al-Faqr: Journal of Islamic Intellectual Studies (abbreviated as Al-Faqr) is an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal dedicated to advancing critical scholarship on the intellectual traditions of Islam across historical and contemporary contexts. Al-Faqr: Journal of Islamic Intellectual Studies publishes original research articles, theoretical perspectives, methodological papers, and critical reviews that engage with Islamic intellectual heritage as a dynamic and living tradition. The journal emphasizes the interplay between classical texts, historical contexts, and contemporary interpretations, encouraging contributions that bridge traditional Islamic sciences with modern epistemological, ethical, and social challenges. All submissions undergo a single-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Scope: The journal welcomes contributions from interdisciplinary fields including Islamic Philosophy and Theology (Kalam), Qur'anic and Hadith Studies, Sufism and Islamic Mysticism, Islamic Law and Legal Theory (Usul al-Fiqh), History of Islamic Sciences, Comparative Intellectual Traditions, Contemporary Islamic Thought, Islam and Science, Islam and Human Rights, Gender and Ethics in Islamic Discourse, and the Reception of Islamic Ideas in Global Contexts—particularly those examining:

• Hermeneutical approaches to Qur'anic and Hadith texts
• Philosophical and theological debates in classical and modern Islam
• Sufi metaphysics, ethics, and spiritual practices
• Legal theory and its engagement with contemporary social issues
• Manuscript studies and the intellectual history of Muslim societies
